Heat oven to 375℉.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1½ cups of all-purpose flour, ½teaspoon of baking soda, ¼ teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of light brown sugar. Stir well.
Add ½ cup of softened margarine or butter to the bowl and mix together until creamy.
Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and stir until the dough is completely smooth.
Mix in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
Roll dough into balls of desired size and place them evenly on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in oven for 9 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to sit for 2 minutes. They are ready to serve!
