If you personally know me, then you would know growing up I did not like Italian food. I didn’t like pasta and would absolutely not order it from a restaurant while dining out. The closest I would come to eating Italian food was Fazoli’s, and while I classify places like Fazoli’s and Olive Garden as Italian food, many do not. When I met my now boyfriend in January of 2022, he quickly got me hooked on Italian food because well…his diet mainly consisted of pasta. And then when I visited Italy after graduation in June of 2022, my love and appreciation for Italian food and/or pasta was solidified. Now you will catch me specifically asking to go to an Italian restaurant for date night or with friends. And you will soon see plenty of pasta dishes on my website (mainly curated for my boyfriend). Below you will find various restaurants I went to while visiting Rome. All the restaurants below are highly recommended by me and my two friends I traveled alongside. Stay tuned for another post about restaurants in Florence!

All the dishes I listed above were phenomenal. My favorite dish I had in Rome (and maybe all of Italy) was the Spaghetti alla carbonara from Mimì e Cocò. Something about the creamy rich pasta with some of the best bacon I’ve ever had made me fall in love with the dish. Now when I get Italian food in the states, my go to order is Spaghetti alla carbonara.
